it sure is! I have done it a couple of times with output from
POVRAY(http://169.237.35.250/~dylan/lab_website/dylan/gis/povray/friant1.mpeg)
, and GRASS (http://169.237.35.250/~dylan/solar/beam1.mpg)

...but never with mapserver...
