[Mapserver-users] 24bit Raster Image

Thanks for everyone's input. After attempting many recommended fixes I
figured out that I made a freshman error. I used gdalinfo to check the
status of my tiff files and found out that the majority of them were
corrupted. Don't know where the corruption came from but thank goodness
for backup tapes.

If it says it can't recognize the image format, maybe your TIF uses a
compression that is not supported. There are many sorts of TIF. Perhaps
try to convert your TIF into a different compression, or better:
uncompressed (better from a compatibility point of view). But if space
is
an issue, you should consider converting it to ECW format
(www.ermapper.com). That should work without much loss of quality.

regards,

Jacob
