ArcView 3.1

Hi all,
        I have AreView 3.1. Windows XP is installed on my computer. The problem is that when I insert the CD to install it following error message appears

C:/WINDOWS/SYSTEMS32/AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem.
