Perl MapScript - newbie blues

Hi all.

Can anyone point me to some working examples of using Perl to
manipulate the map image? Specifically, I need to be able to draw
lines, dots and other features on an existing map. Being able to
dynamically create and display entire layers would also be great.

I've looked high and low for examples, but find none. Also, it seems
that the documentation for MapScript is not completely updated (no
examples come to mind and I'm not on the computer that I am developing
this project on), so I'm having some trouble getting things working.

I can also post a code snippet of what I'm trying to do, but as this
must be simply newbie madness, I'm assuming that if I can find some
working examples of Perl MapScript, I'll be able to figure things out
for myself.

Thanks in advance!
