Advise wanted: Mapserver 4 and MS/SQL

I'm perhaps off topic put I might have the same problem. I have to
classify about 4000 polygons using an external database by using an
expression like:

        /10000|03000|56430... and so on.../

Does this mean that if I have more than 100 id's in the expression it wont
work?
