Display GNIS points/annotation

Does anyone know how to display the GNIS (lat/long/point)  file from
the USGS GNIS site within mapserver. I've imported the file into my
PostgreSQL db, but don't know how to call the data from the mapfile..
ie. Since there is no "the_geom" column..what do I do?
