Mapquest - A9 - Amazon - AJAX map interface

Hi all,

After playing with this for a while, I like doing AJAX for map 
navigation, but I hate their controls. It is not obvious how to recenter 
the map. There is a lot I really don't like about this implementation. 
I'm not very impressed with the interface for the block either.
