basic introduction to mapserver

Is there a good, clear introduction to mapserver out there?

I appreciate the documentation on the mapserver Web site, but it seems to be written for someone who has been using ESRI already or is already familiar with the basic concepts.

How about something that includes explanations of the basic concepts to a new beginner?
