Layer drawing

I moved a step further with my PDA-mapscript application :

I run the cross-compiled shp2img and it also draws an empty image without
layers.There is a message after the program terminates : "turning off NDELAY
mode "

I would like to ask you which is the library for concatenating images from
different layers and forming the final map image? Is it gd or gdal ?

p.s : tested the source with the same mapfile and data in my Linux i686 and
run correctly.
