Data Retrieval from a DBF File Format

Hi All,
I have my interface ready but want to make it interactive i.e I want
the user to b able to click on a point and the interface could actually
display the data for that point.I have a dbf file with me including
shp and shx through which I designed the map interface.
Do I need to install some other applictions besides ms4w so as to
establish a connectivity with the interface?Can anyone give me ideas of
the way a script would look like?
Please help me go ahead with this.
