MapServer & friends on 64-bit system?

Mark,

I have heard reports of folks running into a few quirks buildings GDAL
and other libraries on AMD 64bit systems; however, as far as I know
they were nothing insurmountable.  However, I have no direct experience.

If it were me, I would stick with a 32bit system to avoid any quirks,
but that is just me.
