list of default layers

Hi!

As a newbie I have a question regarding default layers. Is it possible
to get the list of default layers and put it into a template file
through CGI interface? [layers] keyword gives a list of layers that
have status=on and [toggle_layers] lists layers which status is not
default, i.e. on or off. Isn't it possible to get list of default
layers? (without using Mapscript)
