resolution SVG

when outputing an SVG map format from mapserver, can i change it´s resolution
dinamically?
for example, i have a path with 30 points, when i zoom out i want that path
with - points, of course, for all the paths in the map!
i use mapfiles, so is there any parameter i´m not seeing?
