FW: MINSCALE & MAXSCALE Units

Hi Julian,

I'm new to mapserver, but my guess is that maxscale and minscale don't have
units as such - they're kind of ratios. A layer will stop displaying when
the zoom factor (ratio) is outside the range of maxscale to minscale. A
given layer will be visible until you zoom out to maxscale, it will be
visible when you zoom out further if you specify a bigger (larger number)
maxscale. This would seem to indicate that maxscale is working properly in
your example. I'm not familiar with "nnn metre zoom", but I guess it's an
indication of "how big" a certain length feature appears at that zoom.

Thanks,
Greg.
