You could process the form request in an hidden frame (instead of the
main page) and, with Javascript, substitute the source of the various
images (map, reference, legend, scalebar) and update the variables used
in the form (e.g.: imgext, mapxy, selected layers, and so on).

Mapserver

Hi all,

In Mapserver applications, is there anyway of stopped
the page being refreshed every time a request is made
to the server? I have heard of using XML HTTP Request
Object?

Regards
Ben
