templete problem

i am using the following line to query the map 

  window.open("/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe?map paramerters.......................");

  but it just prints .
  Code No [codeno]
  Name [name]

  why it is not printing any value, below is my html file.

  <html>
<head>
<title> Data Template</title>
</head>
<body>
<li>Code No [codeno]</li>
<li>Name [name]</li>
</body>
  </html>
