Joining another table in a PostGIS layer for CLASS

Hello,

I have a map layer that is in a Postgresql database and was wondering if it is possible to join another database table (in the same database) to the layer and use a field in the joined table for defining CLASS values in my mapfile?  Any advice on
this?
