For everbybody:

In the mapfile you need something like that:
QUERYMAP
SIZE 500 500
STATUS ON
STYLE NORMAL
END

If the header-html-file looks like :
<map  name="mymap">

it is important to have a reference to that in the footer.html (I didn`t have 
in my last posting), like:

</map>
<img name="map" src="http://localhost[img]" width="500"
height="500" usemap="#mymap>
