other options to handle the geospatial operations in mapserver??

I want to design a new system to display satellite images through web-gis=
=20
which based on mapserver.  In the old version i use oracle spatial to han=
dle
the geospatial operations,such as such as overlap of two polygons. and us=
e=20
php/mapscript to search Oracle spatial .
Now,i want to use a new method to handle the geospatial opetations.=20
Does PostGIS,MapInfo or GML(Geography Markup Language) can work for this=20=

function?  or other database system can work for this function based on=20=

mapserver as Oracle Spatial do?  Does php/mapscript can work with PostGIS=
,
MapInfo etc?=A3=BF

Anyone give me some suggestion?
