Smooth panning with Dbox?

I know how ka-map (or Google) does it but I didn't know ROSA did it. That would be the approach
to emulate.  You're treading beyond the niche I originally envisioned for that application. Should 
look at OpenLayers too it may support smooth panning with untiled sources.
