Upgrading Mapscript from 4.10.1 to 5.0 causes an Apache crash

# gd php
-bash: gd: command not found

Unfortunately, I have no "gd" binary on my system.

gd2copypal     
gdcmpgif
gd2togif       
dlib-config
gd2topng       
gdparttopng
gdtopng

Are the only binaries related to GD I can use... Where did you find that 
"gd" executable ? Is is a compilation flag ?
