Mapfile PROJECTION questions

Hi, a couple (hopefully) easy questions about the PROJECTION directive in the
.map file:

First: I have shapefiles with .prj projection information, in WKT format.
How can I represent that in the .map file? I do not see a way to put a WKT
string in the PROJECTION block. (Background: I am trying to automatically
generate .map files so manually converting WKT to PROJ4 strings is not
really an option.)

Second: How does the PROJECTION AUTO option work? I tried using this at the
LAYER level, but it does not seem to work (i.e. the WFS feed gives me an
error about not including a required PROJECTION block).

I'm using MS4W 2.2.6 (mapserver 5.0). Thanks in advance.
