Something like:
"proj=longlat"
"+ellps=WGS84"
"+datum=WGS84"
"+no_defs"
...is applicable to data which is global in nature. You can use the
EPSG code shorthand as well:
PROJECTION
"init=epsg:4326"
END

You would use this info to define the _native_ projection of the data.
