But, afaik, AUTO is not the same as FOLLOW.  If you want, for example,
curved labels on roads that are curved, following the road, you need FOLLOW,
not AUTO.

I had previously had some preblems when (incorrectly, I believe) specifying
POSITION AUTO along with ANGLE FOLLOW:

but it doesn't look like you're doing that, so I'm not sure why things
aren't working for you.
