[mapserver-users] "top level" layer parameter substitution

Hello,

I'm having a bit of a bother trying to change top level layer parameters
via cgi parameters. By top level I mean what ever is outside of class
definitions like " OPACITY".

Is this possible? I've tried both syntax like
"&map_layername_OPACITY=75"  as well as "&map.layername.OPACITY=75"
as well as arrays "&map.layers[1].OPACITY=87"

I've able to change paramters outside of layer definitions like map size
successfully.

would appreciate some insight,
