this should make the trick (couldn't test now):

for(int i=0; i<layer.getNumFeatures; i++)
{
    shapeObj shape = layer.getFeature(i, -1);
    for (int i = 0; j < layer.numitems; i++)
    {
        Console.WriteLine("Field " + layer.getItem(j) + ", Value=" +
shape.getValue(i));
    }
}
