Maybe you can ask the GIS at development guys if they will agree
for publishing your Jan 2007 article elsewhere with acknowledgement
to the source ("originally published in ????). I have a feeling they
will agree.

Perhaps we could also select article from the GRASS/OSGeo Newsletter for
publishing else where too, if the authors agree again with
acknowledgement to the source.
