[Marketing] New Chair

Something that may be worthwhile is the marketing committee as a whole reaching out to the community and the board to identify more concrete steps for the committee to take. Is that working to generate content for the site? Some specific advocacy idea that we don’t even know yet?

I think a big part of the lethargy is a lack of... mission, for lack of a better word. Working on sponsorship for events is absolutely important work, but it’s not all that engaging by itself... most of the time seems to go towards getting the expectations of whoever is requesting sponsorship to a level the committee can deliver on. Ultimately, it’s politely saying “I don’t think we can help with that” to people who want to do things that we’d love to see them do.

How would everyone feel about taking a week to examine what we could actually accomplish, do some of that outreach, then send out that request for a new chair again and see if it goes anywhere.
