Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
die Version 4.5 der OSGeo Live GIS Software Kollektion wurde
veröffentlicht. Sie beinhaltet 25-minütiges Video, das die 42 enthaltenen
GeoSpatial Open Source Anwendungen beschreibt.
Nächste Woche wird die DVD auf der FOSSGIS Konferenz in Heidelberg
(http://www.fossgis.de/konferenz/2011/) verteilt und im Vortrag von Lars
Lingner und Astrid Emde am Donnerstag, den 7. April 2011 vorgestellt.

OSGeo-Live 4.5 ist eine getrennt bootfähige DVD, ein USB-Stick oder eine
virtuelle Maschine basierend auf Xubuntu, die Ihnen ermöglicht, eine
Vielzahl von Open Source GIS Software auszuprobieren, ohne etwas
installieren zu müssen.
OSGeo-Live 4.5 enthält vorkonfigurierte Anwendungen für ein breites
Spektrum an Anwendungsfällen aus dem GIS-Bereich. Außerdem enthält sie
Beispieldatensätze und Dokumentationen.
Neu in der Version 4.5 ist die Dokumentation in deutscher Sprache. Die
Projektübersichten und Beschreibungen der Standards liegen weitgehend auf
Deutsch vor. Für die im August geplante OSGeo-Live 5.0 ist außerdem eine
Übersetzung der Quickstart-Dokumente geplant (hierfür werden noch
Übersetzer gesucht).

Version 4.5 of the OSGeo Live GIS software collection has been released,
along with a 25 minute video describing the 42 contributing GeoSpatial
Open Source applications.
OSGeo-Live is a self-contained bootable DVD, USB flash drive and Virtual
Machine based upon Ubuntu Linux that is pre-configured with a wide
variety of robust open source geospatial software. The applications can
be trialled without installing anything on your computer, simply by
booting the computer from the DVD or USB drive.
