Wonderful, Edoardo. Maybe loop John into it, in my eyes the driving force in the community at the beginning.
He may have a unique perspective.

I reckon it's a good idea.

Hi all,

Last minute idea, but I am thinking about submitting a talk to FOSS4G 2022 walking through OSGeo Oceania's journey. I hope it would prompt some interesting discussions with other local chapters and encourage us to learn more from each other.

Call for submissions close tomorrow, but wanted to gauge sentiment in this group. Happy to put other names down if people are attending.

Some areas that might help other chapters include:

  *   Forming an entity
  *   Board dynamics
  *   Conference organisation
  *   Supporting OpenStreetMap
  *   Distributing funds
  * Trying to balance and incorporate diverse backgrounds from across the region
This would not be a talk about how great we are and why everyone else should learn from us, but more "here was our journey and the struggles and successes we had along the way".

What do you think about submitting such a talk and is anyone else going?

Cheers,

Ed
