[Aust-NZ] FW: Date Availability and Proposal Required - FOSS4G 2009

Hi Everyone,
 
Further to Tim's email re dates, I just wanted to forward the dates that
are currently available at the Convention Centre.  Please refer to email
below. Please also note: their response is based on my request for
Sept/Oct, so we can explore earlier in the year, or further into
November/Dec if preferred.  It is also based on 6 days, with the
preceding day being the day we had considered being targeted at
government only.  Vancouver was 5 days but South Africa are looking at a
6 day program.
 
I have responded that we will need catering in the exhibition earlier.  
 
We can tentatively hold some dates (which I recommend we do).  The
Centre will normally hold more than one set of dates if necessary.
 
I will be pursuing other venues for proposals today.

I hope you had a nice weekend.

 

If catering for 900 pax is in the exhibition (the 2007 program indicates
it is), they will need more than 5,000 sq ft. I have presumed that they
will use the Grand Hall for the exhibition and breaks (27,000 sq feet
and 2,500 sq metres). Let me know if catering will not be offered and we
will offer the Bayside Gallery instead.

 

Not sure if they are flexible with day patterns so I have listed
available options at the Centre:

Wednesday 23 - Tuesday 29 September

Wednesday 7 - Monday 12 October 

Possibly: Tuesday 29 October - Wednesday 4 November (another client is
currently holding the Grand Gall and a decision is due soon).

Monday 9 - Friday 13 November (unable to do preceding day in the
auditorium).

 

I will work on the proposal later this week. It would be good to hold
some space so please let me know what dates we should be holding. Are
you happy with me stating in the proposal that "we have a number of date
availability options in September/October 2009"?
