Friends, with a broken heart I share the very sad news of the passing of
Malena Libman. Malena was a true leader in the Argentina & global open
geospatial communities, a passionate advocate for FOSS4G, and an inspiring
human being.

It's a huge loss for our community. She will be deeply missed by so many.

Dear OSGeo friends,

It is with deep sorrow that I inform of the sudden passing of Malena
Liebman.
Malena was admitted to a healthcare facility last week after having tested
positive for COVID-19.

Among many other things, Malena was the president of the Argentinian OSGeo
Chapter (GeoLibres), chair of the FOSS4G 2021, and worked in the field of
Spatial Data Infrastructures.

I, as well as many of Malena's friends and colleagues, am socked and at a
loss
of words.
