Hi all,

good news regarding the Townhall and the option for a reception:

Poster
======

A simplistic draft for a promotion poster (will be put on multiple poster walls by the conference organizers) here:
https://docs.google.com/drawings/d/1vMt8-TVe0lsNey_fLWfx5wvwCFsGUCtRbzYeK3782Nw/edit

Feedback & editing would be welcome. Hard deadline: Feburary 28

Please note: This poster will not be necessarily used for our own "guerilla marketing" to advertise the Townhall. Example for past guerilla marketing posters:
https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/File:EGU2014_OSGeo_Townhall_Steampunk_Ad_from_Puplomizerxorg.jpg

- question: Is there a up to date figure/image containing the logos of all current OSGeo projects which we could use?

Reception option:
==================
A OSGeo reception one hour before the Townhall. This will be a first. It remains to be defined what this can be
The organizers expect a go/no go concerning the reception by end of February

Reception time slot: Thursday 18:00 - 19:00 hours
Reception venue: Open space right in front of the Townhall room, maybe small table for nibbles/drinks.

Townhall time slot: Thursday 19:00 - 20:00 hours
Townhall venue: A room for up to 100 persons (green? level of main conference building)

The conference organizers are really supporting us: The room for the Townhall is guaranteed empty already by 18:00 hours, so we have time to spread out, prepare giveaways/handouts/flyers, PLUS we have the open space for the reception.

While the Townhall will cater towards scientists from all EGU Divsions (not necessarily die-hard OSGeo old salts), one option for the reception would be to have an informal birds-of-a-feather meeting for people which already have an interest in OSGeo. This could be used to announce news about what has happened within OSgeo in the last year (Analogy: similar to EGU Division meetings ?).

Would this be a good idea ? Any other/better ideas ?

Best,
Peter
