[OpenLayers-Dev] overview map using a google layer

Hi,
I'm unsuccessfully trying to create an overview map using a google layer. The result is a null bounds exception.
I've found some messages on forums about this issue but none of them very conclusive.
Has anyone succeeded to create an overview map with spherical Mercator projection?
