Hi,
To support mobile browser with OL, there is some code in sandboxes:
- http://svn.openlayers.org/sandbox/camptocamp/mobile/trunk/lib/IOL/
- http://svn.openlayers.org/sandbox/camptocamp/mobile/trunk/lib/iUI/
- http://svn.openlayers.org/sandbox/camptocamp/mobile/trunk/lib/openlayers/

Bruno Binet did this work (see
http://openlayers.org/pipermail/dev/2010-February/005677.html)

This has been used in http://www.openaddresses.org/mobile/#_map (code is
here for mako template:
http://code.google.com/p/openaddresses/source/browse/trunk/openaddresses/openaddresses/templates/mobile.mako
Specific
js code is here:
http://code.google.com/p/openaddresses/source/browse/trunk/openaddresses/openaddresses/public/app/js/OpenAddressesMobile.js
)

HTH,
Cédric
