 Using example [http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/measure.html
 measure.html] try:

  * draw a line ending with a double click.
  * press the shift key (freehand start)
  * click, the measurement is correct 0.00 m, oops! but the line does not
 disappear.
  * do 3 clicks
  * release the shift key
  * draw a line ending with a double click, ok.
  * draw a line ending with a double click, oops! the previous line
 remains.

 I think that is where the problem, is similar to #3310
