[OpenLayers-Users] when panning E/W, map shifts in Y direction

Hi list,

just got a report of the following (using 2.2RC2):

if the map is panned, for instance 4 times to the right using
map.pan(map.size.w/2, 0), and then back again 4 times
(map.pan(-map.size.w/2, 0), the map 
shifts in the Y direction.

Does anybody have an idea what could cause this?

The bbox's in the  url's are:
1) initial situation:
111358.132624,403032.302298,118389.382624,408101.342995
2) after panning 4 times to the right:
125420.632624,403082.615357,132451.882624,408151.656054
3) after panning 4 times back to the initial location:
111358.132624,403132.928416,118389.382624,408201.969113

As you can see the shift is 100 meters in the Y direction.
