No. This exists for WMS layers (WMS.Untiled), so a MapServer Untiled
layer would need to duplicate similar functionality for the MapServer
request format.

Yeah. I found out about this bug on Friday. I think that his is
important enough that it should force a 2.3.1 (or 2.4 if we want to
change versions.) Ticket #509 (http://trac.openlayers.org/ticket/509)
has a patch.
