You haven't told OpenLayers to reproject your data. At this time, the
way to do that is to set internal/external projection properties on the
Format.GML construction.

protocol: new OpenLayers.Protocol.HTTP({
    url: "gml/owls.xml",
    format: new
    OpenLayers.Format.GML({
      internalProjection: map.getProjectionObject(), 
      externalProjection: map.displayProjection
    })
}),
