[OpenLayers-Users] Overview map optimization

How should I patch OL code if I want Overviewmap control not requests map
image from server if control div is not visible.
And how can I configure overviewmap control If I need only one (constant)
zoom level (main map max extent) with draggable rectangle on it to specify
AOI's.
