Hi Jim,

 

Not sure but you could try to make the layer visible but define a
'invisible' style. Then when you want to visualize the layer you set a
'visible' style

 

Just my 2 cents

I would like to know if it's possible to charge WFS layer at the
beginning of the application but with the layer not visible.
