Er, you're aware that the zoom box doesn't work on *either* of 2.7 or
2.8 demos below, right?

You've used a name other than "OpenLayers.js" for your OL file (which,
by the way, doesn't work as you're doing it in Safari), and so OL can't
automatically include the stylesehet (theme/default/style.css). You
should include this stylesheet in your page manually, which will fix
both of these issues.
