[OpenLayers-Users] Google Map Directions possible?

Hi

We are using OpenLayers in our application.  We are adding a Google map
layer to the map.  Using Openlayers, is it possible to perform Google Map
Directions as shown here:
http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/services.html#Directions

If yes, which version of OpenLayers should we be using?  We are currently
using 2.8.
