Hello,

The Canadian Weather Service is looking to make content available through
WebMaps. We already have content delivered through WMS with time extend
support. We are looking for a WebMap client library which supports WMS-T.

Searching through the last few years of the mailing list (Nabble archive
search looks down), I found one occurrence :

http://dev.openlayers.org/sandbox/mpriour/temporal_map/openlayers/examples/time-
control.html

I also found ticket #1100 (http://trac.osgeo.org/openlayers/ticket/1100) that
suggest to add a control to navigate the time dimension for layers. The last
change to that ticket was done 5 years ago. It's set to be in the 3.0
milestone. I looked at the code on gitHub in the master branch, but I didn't
find the control.

What is the current status of handling layers with a time extend in
OpenLayers? Is it going to be part of the 3.0 release? If so, is their a
rough idea of when version 3.0 will become available?

Best regards,

Samuel
