Bob / Jurgen,

Indeed this was an error when the gdal sde plugin was first
compiled by Howard.  We really need to regenerate it with
the non-debug runtime.   I don't think Howard is keen (or
perhaps in a position) to do this now, but possibly JeffM
can?
