 Guessing- you need to do this first:

  sudo apt-get update
 }}}

 Is this a wish that curl be installed by default, or an error report that
 apt-get install doesn't work? If the wish, no real objection (unless it
 wants many MB of deps), but from the anti-redundancy and curiosity depts.:
 what does curl give that wget doesn't already supply?
