for those of us who don't know PostgreSQL very well but are pretty good at
monkey-see monkey-do, a command by command example of how to do this on
the wiki would be incredibly helpful. it doesn't have to be anything fancy.

e.g., starting with shp2pgsql, then export to the .sql, and finally reimporting back into the destination PostGIS db.
