I'm CCing the developer list, who will likely have technical suggestions 
which should be helpful.
We should be able to build OSGeo-Live with minimal customisation from an 
Ubuntu 10.04 base.

Do you have a ubuntu 10.04 base we can work from?
If so, would likely have developers who could build the system on 
click2try for you.
