[Oskari-user] Image & URL detection in Myplaceimport?

There’s an existing roadmap item for combining myplaces and userlayer functionality: https://github.com/oskariorg/oskari-docs/issues/31 so there has been some plans on combining the two and probably analysis will follow the same route. Just lacking contributions for making it happen :) There has been some development on enabling style edits on userlayers here at NLS Finland, but it hasn’t been submitted yet. Can’t say for sure that it will be part of the next release (the target date for 1.46.0 is 6th of April at the moment).

For detecting content for making links and embedding images are you talking about the featuredata table or the GFI popup or both or something else? I guess the GFI popup could do some smart content recognition. Some people argue that they want to copy the contents which would not work very well for images, but from my perspective it would be a nice change all the same. There’s also some talk about improving the import functionality so the user could select which fields to import and to re-label them. This would be a convenient place for the user to mark which fields should be treated as links/images/video etc. Sadly so far it has been only talk and no contributions. You should submit this as an issue in GitHub if possible. I’ll label it as an enhancement for the frontend. That makes it easier for someone to find this request and contribute the change.

Hello all!

Is it possible to have URLs detected automatically in Oskari Myplaceimport-tool? Tried this with Paikkatietoikkuna and URL-links are just plain text.

This enhancement would give more usability to Myplaceimport feature, if one could add attributes with links and also if link ends with image-format (.jpg, .png) the pop-up info would show those.

Also Myplace & Myplaceimport tools could be joined together. Now you can not change e.g. the visualisations for datasets but you can change and modify Myplace information.

This was noted when testing the data import with Aurajokisäätiö.
