[Ottawa_users] FOSS4G 2014 Bid

Hi Everyone,

I am part of a team assembling a bid for FOSS4G 2014. The bid plans to host
it in Washington D.C. in September 2014. Dave McIlhagga, myself are both
part of the conference committee along with an impressive and very
experienced team.

We were hoping the OSGeo Ottawa chapter could formally support to the bid?

The practicalities of supporting the bid might manifest in a variety of
ways such as helping spread the word in Ottawa & general about the various
milestones like the web site going on-line, call for papers, call for
workshops, early bird registration, etc.

As far as protocol to decide, perhaps if someone other than Dave and I
would please +1, we'll consider the first +1 the motion, the next as the
second, and subsequent tallied in the vote. If anyone feels strongly
against it, please -1 and suggest why.

For what it is worth, the OSGeo Quebec chapter's steering committee voted
unanimously to support the bid.
